ch_more New Chip Cards

Your Visa® Debit Cards are being replaced upon expiration dates to the Visa® Chip Cards.  Visa® Chip Cards are not only more secure, they are also simple to use. Chip cards and terminals work together to protect in-store payments. A unique one-time code is generated behind-the-scenes that is needed for the transaction to be approved – a feature that is virtually impossible to replicate in a counterfeit card.
ch_more Larger merchants will be among the first to deploy chip-activated terminals, with more merchants deploying over the next few years.
ch_more You can still swipe your chip-enabled card using the magnetic stripe on the back of the card at merchants who haven’t yet updated their terminals
ch_more When you swipe your chip-enabled card at a chip-activated terminal, the terminal will prompt you to insert the card into the chip slot instead.  Don’t forget to take your card!
ch_more Use your card for payment over-the-phone or online just like you always have.
ch_more In most cases, you’ll sign for credit purchases and either sign or enter your PIN for debit purchases — just like you do today. You may not be required to do either for certain types of transactions involving relatively small purchase amounts.
ch_more YOU CAN STILL Choose Credit When Using Your new chip-enabled Debit Card.   You will be asked to enter your PIN, but you can choose, CREDIT!  Why?  Visa® transactions are more efficient and less costly than ATM transactions. You can save the Credit Union money by choosing CREDIT instead of Debit. Choosing CREDIT does not mean you will not be billed to a credit card, but means your purchase will be deducted from your checking account.  If you do not need cash back, CHOOSE CREDIT!
